German Design Award winner ‘imagno Farm’ is an interactive building set for toddlers, consisting of eight beechwood blocks with integrated sensors and magnets. With the use of a free app, that can be used with both IOS and Android, the blocks can be programmed with the sound of farm animals. When the blocks are arranged into a specific form, for example a horse, the child receives acoustic feedback, such as sounds, songs or stories. The package with four possible figures for the blocks, comes with a corresponding sound package, also available in English. Also included are animal cards, a booklet and a charging cable.
The imagno Farm is a perfect example of the trend Simplify, which is all about living a more minimalistic lifestyle with fewer products in your home and life. The things that you do use and purchase should have more value or quality. The idea of a minimalistic lifestyle is consuming less and making room for more meaningful experiences. The high-tech elements in combination with the traditional wooden toy add new value to the design of the imagno Farm.
Kerstin Rudat and Anissa Wagner, founders of start up Matoi, have won the German Design Award 2018 in the category Baby & Child Care. The funding of the production of the imagno Farm will be partially covered by a crowdfunding campaign. For more information, visit this website, and this one if you would like to order the product.
