Trend watchers from Fontys University of Applied Sciences to seek the trend highlights of the year for the sixth time running.
From 11 to 14 February 2017, the ‘trend watchers’ will embark on another research expedition at Ambiente. For the fifth time running, the students of Fontys University of Applied Science in Tilburg, the Netherlands, will present the macro trends of the year. Since Ambiente 2015, the nine young trend experts have not only been looking for the latest trends in Hall 11.0 but also focused their research activities on products from the Table Contemporary Design segment in Hall 4.0. In this connection, they take Ambiente visitors on guided tours to their personal trend highlights in the two exhibition halls. “With the cooperation of Fontys University, we create interfaces between the exhibitors, the fair and young designers. We support the young trend watchers and give them the chance to make and cultivate contacts to the consumer-goods sector”, says Nicolette Naumann, Vice President Ambiente/Tendence. The tours will be held four times a day from Saturday to Tuesday with the tours in Hall 11.0 taking place at 14.00 and 16.00 hrs, and in Hall 4.0 at 12.30 and 16.00 hrs. The students also offer separate, exclusive tours for larger groups. Visitors wanting to take part can make sure of a place on a tour or ask questions by sending a brief email to email@example.com. The trend watchers will present the results of their work daily at their stands in the foyer of Hall 11.0 and the foyer of Hall 4.0. Additionally, they report about their research activities on the internet at www.ambientetrends.com. “Ambiente is an amazing experience. Here, we have the chance to present our visions of future consumer trends, as well as to demonstrate the significance and relevance of our profession as lifestyle professionals. We learn a great deal from this project and get a really good feeling of how it is to work with different companies on an international plane”, says Lisa Wife, a student at Fontys University of Applied Science who will be one of the trend watchers a the coming Ambiente.
With around 40,000 students, Fontys University of Applied Sciences is one of the biggest institutes of higher education in the Netherlands. It is one of the few universities in the world to offer a module on ‘trend watching’, as part of the course on ‘International Lifestyle Studies’. End of Press Release
