Our society is currently changing as we are shifting from a 24/7 to a 24/zero society. With this new state of ‘timelessness’, the forefront is pushing us into unchartered territory. It creates the perception that time has no limit and therefore has become irrelevant (Maas, 2016). Yet, time simultaneously maintains its value as an integral element for our necessary rest and contemplation. This leads to people trying to get a grip on time and looking for a serene daily rhythm. These needs are reflected in minimalistic and poetic designs. By designing objects that increase awareness regarding time, the prospective consumers are tempted to live in the here and now.
